Megasys University Course Description

FRONT OFFICE
 
Delivery Format:  On-line Training/On-Site Custom Training/Megasys Training Center 
Duration:  8 hours (delivered in 2 hour increments) 
Audience:  The target audience is new Front Office and front desk clerks. 
 
Prerequisites:  Reservations
 
Pre-Configuration:  None
 
Course Description:
 
This course is designed to develop users’ understanding of the Megasys Front Office Menus and the menu options and reports pertaining to the Front Office.   This will include checking in, posting charges including comp processing, checking out, shift closings, and finding reports.
 
Course Objectives:  
  • The user will be able to use and read the availability screen.
  • The user will identify the components of the check in process.
  • The user will identify the components of the check out process.
  • The user will understand the procedures for check in, charge posting and check out.
  • The user will be able to identify and use the procedures for group check in and check out.
  • The user will identify the components of three primary front office menus and options.
  • The user will identify the components of the Guest History Menu and options that may be used by the front office.  
Course Agenda: 
  • Overview of the basic Front Office system (FOS, FR1, FOF, and GRP).
  • Review and explanation of the availability screen and house stats.
  • Create reservations in the RES menu to review the reservation options.
  • One ‘regular’ reservation
  • One ‘casino’ (club) reservation
  • Check in the reservations just made to review the check in prompts and options.
  • Review Group Check-ins on the GRP menu and have the user check in a pre-configured group.
  • Review Group Check-outs and have the user check out the pre-configured group on the GRP menu. 
  • Review the cashier functions on the FOS menu
  • Have the user post charges to a pre-assigned folio to review the screen prompts.
  • Demonstrate the Quick Post option.
  • Demonstrate the Display/Print Folio option.
  • Review the options for Direct Posting to City Ledger and the Front Office Journal.
  • Have the user close their shift.
  • Review the Shift History Option.
  • Review the displays and reports on the FOS menu as the user goes into these menu options.
  • Review the FOF menu .
  • Review front office reports from the FOF and FR1 menus.
  • Review the GHS menu options.
  • Review the Special Forms Menu (FR2).
